Matley Hurd
Matley Hurd is a San Francisco based artist who works mainly in surreal portraiture. Pulling from his background in comic, anime, and graffiti art his work is focused on beings called ‘Star Goddess’. Inspired by mythology he made them to be his own interpretation of God. Symbolizing that we are the creators of our own universe.
“All of Us”
Surfside Liquors is one of three black owned liquor stores in all of San Francisco and the only store in Hunters Point. Depicting a strong black man I wanted the mural the represent the area and the community.

I wanted to create a simple straight forward portrait of a Goddess. Radiating beauty, elegance, and positivity.
