Andre Natty Rebel Jones

Andre Jones is a muralist, designer, and public arts facilitator. His illustrative style under the alias Natty Rebel has landed him projects from East Oakland to East Africa. He holds a B.A. in Commercial Art from Virginia Commonwealth University and considers himself an Art Anthropologist. His passion for social justice mixed with art continues to drive him to produce visually stimulating imagery and build long-standing relationships with communities around the world. In addition to painting murals in San Francisco, Oakland, Vallejo, he has also created public art installations in Philadelphia, New York, and Ethiopia. He spent 7 years teaching and painting with the Philadelphia Mural Arts Big Picture Program. In 2007, Andre moved to Oakland and began painting commissioned murals. In 2017 he founded the Bay Area Mural Program (BAMP) a nonprofit organization established to engage communities in public art. As the Executive Director of BAMP, Andre has facilitated numerous large-scale community-based projects while employing local Bay Area talent. His mission is to employ the visual arts to inspire and re-define urban communities. His emotionally captivating works reflect his sense of connection to the people.
